Johor Bahru to Singapore by BUS

I was watching Discovery Channel @ home, alone and was so amazed.  The episode is about Mega Structure- Marina Bay Sands. It's in Singapore!!!  The landscape is sooooo beautiful. The Sands Sky Park which at the top of 3 hotel towers is so amazing. It's look like a boat or sampan float in the sky!!! Architect Moshe Safdie who was born in Haifa but grew up in Canada is a brilliant urban designer. Habitant 67 in Montreal is one of my favorite tho I never been there $$$ :P . But this time I can see one of his project before my eyes..because it is in Singapore!!! What am I waiting for? It's took just 5 hours or so driving from home!!! Last time I went to Singapore is December 2007... Christmas Shopping Spree of course... Hohoho. This time different agenda.. Well.... shopping will b a minor this time.
So I search a website of Singapore and this is very helpful www.yoursingapore.com

I have a friend who facing a hard moments so I ask her to join me. I guess this trip will cheer her up and she said YES. We plan our trip from Kuala Lumpur to Johor Bahru by car and from Johor we gonna take train or bus. We will decide it later. Week after week I waited. At first my friend ask me to postpone the trip as she is busy with her work. So I agreed. And I'm waiting.., and waiting and no news from her. So I take it as a cancellation.. Hahah may be she already recovered from her hard times and I'm the only one who excited to see one of world wonders engineered project.
So I guess I need to plan it myself. Since I'm working in Kuantan, I think I want to try route that I never tried before which is Kuantan - pekan - rompin- mersing- Johor bahru. Before this I went to singapore via plus hiway or by airplane only.
From Kuantan I drove to pekan via tanjung lumpur, from pekan I took road to Rompin. I had a breakfast in Rompin and so do my kancil. I fill up the fuel at shell nearby. A friendly cashier asked me where I'm heading to and well I said JB (short of Johor Bahru of course hehehe) he did give me some advice which others should know as well. DO NOT STOP when any stone hit your car!! There are some crime happened somewhere along the road rompin - mersing. Small stones thrown to your car on purpose!! If u stop and get out of your car, they ( the stupid criminals) will take this chance to steal or do other crimes.. So..
BE CAReFuL!!! The condition of the road is dangerous as well. People who love straight road need to think twice to use this route.
As for me, I continue my journey as planned and thank to the shell guy for his advice. Finally I reached Johor Bahru. It's not a difficult trip. I just follow the signboard. No map no GPS. Now I'm searching for compact hotel. This hotel is recommended by a friend who lives in Johor bahru. According to him this hotel is the nearest hotel to go to the immigration. I have the address and a small map, location of the compact hotel.. Well I'm in the right road jalan wong ah fok but I didn't see any sign of compact hotel. I make another turn. Still can't allocate the hotel.Aghhhhhh !! Hate this. Owh ya! I on my phone and use the map application. I feel that I wanna scream at that time!!! Hahah according to the mad on my phone the compact hotel = JA Residence hotel!!!!! No wonder I can't find it!
I drove to the parking place .. Wow!! There's lifts. My car never been lift up the building before.I hope it like it heheh. It's kinda scary for me as a first timer. Drive into the lift, and I heard the parking man said "press level 6" so I did that. The door closed and at level 6 it opened and there's parking space hehehe I smile alone.
I went down to the lobby and check in. rm130net per night with hot shower and queen size bed.
The overall condition of the hotel is 2.4 over 5. It's an old building and not well maintained. I walk into my room. The furniture is old and not well maintain but I relieve because it's clean. I turn on the tv.. Checking the tv channels... Tv1,tv2,tv3,ntv7,8tv,Singapore channels, 1 Indonesia channel and sport channel. Then I go to the bathroom. Yes there's hot shower. Other facilities are kettle, iron and iron board and small fridge.
Hungry... Dinner time.. Went out from the hotel and drive down to Damai Seafood Restaurant, which situated in Kampung Danga.  My favorite is seafood cooked in claypot. Yummy!!  With good food at reasonable price with tranquil atmosphere, I don't mind drive 40 minutes (approx) from the hotel.
Next day, wake up early in the morning, had breakfast at the hotel.  Not many choices to choose.  On that day they have cereal, juice, milk, coffe n tea, bread, sausage, egg, nasi impit, kuah lodeh, baked bean and  fruits.  I just had milk and honey stars.
According to Mr. Be@n, I can just walk to the immigration.  I followed his instruction.  Yes, its so simple.  I just need to walk to JB city Square and go to 2nd floor then from there just walk across to JB sentral (there's sign to JB sentral - you will not get lost!!) from JB sentral, just follow the sign to CIQ or just follow where other peoples go hehehehe.  Malaysian passport holder can go through the auto check in.  Place the passport in the slot, follow the instruction, place your thumb.... scanningggg.... done! then you can pass through.  After that just walk until there's sign Platform A and Platform B.  According to Mr.Be@n, take bus 170.  So went to platform B.  Go down the stairs/escalator, there's bus station.  I get into 170 bus.  I asked the driver how much. Owh I forgot to ask Mr. Be@n!!... The driver answer me in Chinese... Duh!!! I don't speak Chinese!! I show him 2 pieces of RM1 note, he just nodded. So, I assume its RM2.  KEEP THE BUS TICKET. The bus took me to the Singapore Immigration.  After it stop, everyone went down.  I just follow the group hehe easy huh.  went up to the immigration, then go down again, wait for 170 bust again, get in that bus, no need to pay just show the bus ticket I bought earlier.  Then the bus took me to Kranji MRT Station.
